Sea Dragon Nest Survival Guide: Stage 3 (Defeat Lava Golem)

In this stage, you'll need not to worry about mobs rushing toward you. Instead, you must worry about two things: the lava that will flood the whole vicinity at a certain countdown and the big mean lava golem at the middle. First thing that you must do is to enlarge your minimap by pressing "=". In this way, you can see clearly the platforms in the vicinity and choose the platform that each of you will step on when the whole place is flooded with lava. Take note that it's one platform for one member of the party. If this requirement is not met (for example two of you step on the same platform), the whole party will be wiped out in an instance.

Now let's talk about positioning. As I've said, each member must stand on their own platform, otherwise the whole party will be wiped out. Also, you must also bear in mind these facts: Taking the north at 12 o'clock, tanker class should be standing at 5,6,8 o'clock location while dps class should be standing at 10, 11, 1 o'clock. Why? I'ts because initially, the Lava Golem will face the 6 o'clock platform wherein the main tanker (paladin) will be standing and provoke the golem, while the other class will be hitting the boss at the back.

Also, be aware that the whole place will be flooded with lava every 40 seconds (this is just a rough estimate). So, you better be on your platform before 40 secs (a countdown of 5 secs will be seen before lava flood). And the last thing that you should always remember is that, don't step off the platform until you see the message "Successfully Avoided Lava Flood". After seeing this message, you can safely jump off the platform, even if there are still lava in the ground. Now you know a thing or two about how to avoid the lava flood in stage 3, now let's proceed to the second obstacle of the stage: the Lava Golem.

The Lava Golem pose a lot of threats to the party. He has these skills that can inflict huge amount of damage to the party and worst, he has a 1 hit KO skill. That is whay, it's really a big advantage to the party to know the skills of the Golem and when he will cast it. So, let's cut to the chase and know all the dangerous skills of the Lava Golem that we must be avoided:

1. The Lava Golem has a similar attack pattern as the Rock Golem at the Manticore Nest. It will also cast a ground punching attack and single-earth flipping. The only difference is that when he will punch the ground, 3 pillars of fire will be created around. This don't really pose a threat to party as it has low damage (but I suggest to avoid it as it will chip out your HP if you'll get hit often times).

2. The second skill is double-earth flipping: The golem uses both his hands to flip the earth in front of him causing a line of explosion in front of him. Not that powerful though and easy to dodge.

3. The third skill of Lava Golem is called Fireball. He will throw it on his head (awkward), and  yt will travel in a projectile motion and upon explosion, the ball will split in to four smaller fireballs in x-fashion. Yes, it's like the manticore gravity ball crest. Upon impact, it will deal around 5,000 to 6,000 damage and the worst part is, it has a knocked back effect. So, for example, the whole vicinity has been flooded and then the Golem throwed a fireball attack at you, you'll definitely fall off the platform. So, I suggest that no matter what, evade this skill!

4. The next skill you'll read will be the most dangerous ones. The first vicious skill is Ring of Fire. Normally, Lava Golem will cast this right after the lava flood. This skill will push the party members down from the platform (similar to Spectrum Shower cast by the Hellmode Manticore). There are two rings, inner and outer ring. The outer ring is at the vicinity of the platform. High damage around 15,000. To avoid being hit, rush towards the boss quickly after you see the casting motion: Before castinn Ring of Fire, he will raise both of his hands horizontally to the sides.

5.  The next skill is Fire Charging. Usually, he will cast this when his HP is at 2 bars. He will start charging forward with whole body on fire like what the electric ogre does in apocalypse nest. However, instead of lighting ball, fire ball will be shooting out from his sides, burning anyone who get hit by it and the worst part is, unlike the electric golem who can only charge in straight line, the lava golem can actually turn and follow the person he is trying to charge. So, how do you avoide this? A simple method to jam this skill is, when the he start charging, run towards a platform, then jump on to it and go behind it. Since the boss can’t jump over, he will try to charge into the platform. DPS classes can safely damage the boss at this moment from behind.

6. The final skill of the Lava Golem is the Ignition. When lava golem is at his last bar of hp, there's a strong posibility that he will cast ignition when someone on your team is inflicted with the burn status. This skill will inflict a whooping 54,000+ damage and the worst part is, it's unblockable. Meaning, it ignores the block of cleric, the divine avatar and stance of faith of paladin, and the parrying stance of swordmasters. Priests play a very important role here, by casting miracle hand and curing relic to cure abnormal status. Normally, one priest can't do this as the cooldown of the needed skills are very high. That is why at the very first, I suggested that you must have two priests in your party and also, a force user to hasten the cooldown of the skills of the party.

Important Notes: The casting of ignition is very fast. It's very important that curing relic is at the field always, especially near the paladin. Warrior has an advantage here because they can clear the burn status easily on their own. Highland also keep the whole party and himself alive if ever ignition happens. Other class try not to get hit and burn at all.

Additional Details:

Paladin:
* PROVOKE must be at least Lv4 (best if max) with an A plate to keep the aggro permanently on you.
* Provoke must be cast straight after the word “Safely avoided the lava flood” appears. This is especially important at Hp x2 when he casting fire charging to make sure the golem charges towards you and not other members. Stand behind the platform so the golem will be jammed in front of you.
* At HP x 1, if you are burnt and there are no Miracle Relic and Cure Relic nearby, cast Divine Avatar to cure the burn status. The ignition will be cast if the person with the highest aggro is burnt.

 Priest:
* Take turn to cast Miracle Relic, followed by Cure Relic each round.
* Cure Relic must be cast to cure burn status on paladin especially near HP x 1 before retreating to your own platform because ignition might happen if the paladin get burnt.

 Force User:
* Make sure Beyond Time affect as many people as possible. If you cant aim every party members, priority should be Priest > Pally > Warrior > other classes.

 Warrior/Mercenary:
* Highlander is very important to prevent ignition from killing anyone near HP x1.
* Use Devastating Howl + Taunting Howl when necessary to reduce the attack of the golem to 0.

 Others:
* Lava golem is weak to ice attack and resist fire attack.
* If you are unable to reach the platform in time, it is recommended that you leave your party ASAP. Otherwise, you might cause the whole team to be wiped out.
* Paladin should not cast Stance of Faith when the lava flood is coming. You cant jump to the platform and will lead to the failure of team. This applies to Hacking Stance of sword master too.

After defeating the Lava Golem, a chest will appear with two pieces of 40A armor/weapon + a high level A ranked accessory.

Well, this is the last guide that I could share to you. It's because I haven't got the chance to reach Stage 4 yet which is how to defeat the Mutant Cerberus. But don't worry, I'm making the rest of the guide. So stay tuned!
