Elder Scrolls 6 (Skyrim 2) details might be revealed on 2017? Will it be directly related to Morrowind or Oblivion?

It seems like it has been forever since the last Elder Scrolls game dominated the gaming community. Almost five years after The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim took on the gaming world, fans are getting restless and hungry for a proper sequel to the The Elder Scrolls franchise. Well, The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited was fine, filling the void in many fans’ chests as they wait patiently for The Elder Scrolls 6. But the time has come for Bethesda to stop with the silent treatment and give the patient gamers the proper sequel they deserve: The Elder Scrolls 6.

Bethesda, unlike other developers who are well known for biting off more than they can chew (looking right at you, Square Enix), manages stay silent and divulge close to nil information about their AAA titles before they are well into the release of the game. Remember last E3 2015, when the whole world was shocked at the release of Fallout 4? Classic Bethesda. This is why people are at the edge of their seats waiting for the tiniest information about the much-anticipated sequel to the TheElder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Is it going to be a Skyrim 2? Or is it going to explore a different path altogether?

Bits of information about The Elder Scrolls 6 have already managed to circulate around the web, and we have received news that The Elder Scrolls 6 is most likely to be a second Skyrim. Bethesda’s Vice President for PR and Marketing Pete Hines has previously confirmed that The Elder Scrolls 6 is already in development, and has fondly called the upcoming The Elder Scrolls sequel as Skyrim 2.

While Hines has already hinted at a Skyrim 2, to what extent will The Elder Scrolls 6 be a sequel to the phenomenal The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim? Will it share the same map? The same characters? The same Dragonborn plot? Reports have also been circulating about the official kicker title containing “Argonia,” but where does Skyrim fit into all these? No solid information has yet been disclosed, but Neurogadget, among other gaming and tech websites, are expecting a solid announcement about The Elder Scrolls 6 by 2017.

The holdup, it seems, is that Bethesda is still focusing on its current big boss, Fallout 4, which is why the efforts of the company is largely diverted from The Elder Scrolls sequel. Anyway, Fallout 4 is still quite a bit from the road, with its first DLC still waiting to be launched. Fallout 4’s patch 1.3 has recently rolled out to the platforms, but the first DLC still has little information available. The Vine Report believes that once Fallout 4 has finished rolling out its DLCs, then Bethesda will start plowing into The Elder Scrolls 6.

The Elder Scrolls saga is a series of fantasy-action role-playing game, featuring immense open worlds, developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. The first in The Elder Scrolls franchise is The Elder Scrolls: Arena, released back in 1994 for MS-DOS. The franchise has continued to develop and grow over the years, releasing several titles in different platforms. The last three main titles, The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim, has managed to outdo themselves and all won Game of the Year awards at multiple award-giving bodies. Its biggest and most successful title yet is The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which released in 2011 for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. This is the reason why a lot of fans are really looking forward to a sequel to Skyrim.

In other Bethesda news, Todd Howard, Game Director and Executive Producer at Bethesda Game Studios, will be receiving the prestigious lifetime achievement award at the annual Game Developers Choice Awards in March. Owing immensely to his contributions to the Fallout and The Elder Scrolls franchises, his peers at the game development scene deemed Howard worthy of the award.

Hopefully, this award translates well in terms of a prompt release date of the Fallout 4 DLCs and the much-anticipated The Elder Scrolls 6.
