Saint or Inquisitor: A Comparison Between the Two Priest Job Advancement

Hello guys, welcome to another guide in Dragon Nest SEA. This time around, I will try to enlighten the minds of those who have chosen the path of being a priest. What I'm about to discuss here is all about the second job advancements of a priest. This guide will help you decide what class advancement would you like to pursue.

As we all know, you have the choice to become an Inquisitor or a Saint if you take the path of a Priest. Both class rely mainly on magic and vitality stats. The only difference is that, an Inquisitor is said to be PVP-oriented, while a Saint is a full-supportive kind of class. Taking those fact alone, you can now decide what class to choose depending on your playing style but, for the sake of discussion and further understanding, I will lay down the strength and weakness of an Inquisitor and a Saint. Her goes:

The Inquisitor:

I considered Inquisitors as an unusual but really interesting class to explore. Unusual because we all believe that priest are just supportive classes and Inquisitors disagree with this opinion as they can deal decent damage in a large area., can even own other classes (with proper gears of course). We can't deny the fact that other classes can outdamage INQUI but, what they have is their AOE and the ability to shock opponents and deal good damage over time.

Interesting because, they make use of their dangerous light magic to unleash deadly combination of attacks and, rely on the defensive gift of  a cleric to withstand enemy barrage. In short, they can be considered as the "Jack of All Trades" in Dragon Nest. If you plan to go with Inquisitor, then I suggest to check this Inquisitor skill build. Now, if you're interested to proceed to being an Inquisitor, then you might as well check out the Pros and Cons of an Inquisitor to help you fully understand what you'll about to get into:

Pros:
Very high defensive class (both magic and physical defense)
- Has good offensive power. Uses the light magic to disrupt the opponents attack and as well as deal huge damage per second.
- Uses the buffs (Striking and Blessing of Light) of a Priest to boost his offensive capabilities.
- Said to be good in player vs. player matches.
- Has the healing capabilities of a Priest.
- Can also use the relics like the Cure Relic and Lightning Relic to his advantage.
- Can maximize various skills which cause electrocution (disrupt enemy action) to enemies. One example is the Lightning Bolt which you can raise to 11 to get the Ex version or even to full level.
Massive pool of Mana and HP as this class focuses mainly on Intellect and Vitality
- Has large AOE.

Cons:
- Damage output isn't that high as Elemental Lords.
- Very slow class. Unlike classes like Acrobat, Priest turn into Inquisitor are really slow and easy to catch as they don't have many evasive skills.
- If you're going Inquisitor, then you'll need to sacrifice some crowd controlling skills (like the Bind Relic) of the Priest to help you increase the DPS skills.
- "Jack of All Trades". Well, it's not bad to be good at everything but, this also means that you're a master of nothing. Becoming an Inquisitor means that you need to boost both offense and defense. This obviously means that you can't maximize either two to its full potential.
- You'll lose the essence of being a Priest. What I mean by this is, some people will see you close to being useless in Dungeon Raids (such as the Sea Dragon Nest) as you haven't maximize the skills needed to support a team.
- Expensive gears.

The Saint:

Now you know a thing or two about Inquisitors, let's then proceed to the second choice of advancement, the Saint. I can say that Saints are the expected final output of a Priest. Most likely, people are very definitive that someone has chosen to become a Priest to pursue being a full-supportive class and, that's what a Saint is, the heart of the party, a support. You'll need to maximize every supportive skills (check the skill build guide for Saint here) like the relic, the buffs and the healing skills of the Priest to become and efficient and effective Saint which is always needed on party by the way. So, if you have chosen to become a Saint, then this are his strength and weaknesses to help you prepare:

Pros:
- Highly-demanded in a party.
- The king of all supportive classes. Has great offensive/defensive buffs, has great crowd controlling skills (like the lightning and bind relic), has a relic to heal abonormal status and mostly, has two great healing skills to ensure the party's survivability.
- Can maximize the full potential of Lightning relic with the Ex version.
- Also has good offensive capabilities. Example is his relic of shock: causes relics within 5M to deal lighting damage 250.8%+1496 per relic at skill lv1 to surrounding enemy (cooldown is 60 secs). This is not a new relic by the way. It's more like “ignition” skill on relic. With this ability, he can nuke enemies into oblivion!.
- Massive pool of Mana and HP as this class focuses mainly on Intellect and Vitality.
- Very reliable in Dungeon Raids.
- Saint is a class that makes a lot of gold. I can say this because, most of the time, a Saint is needed on difficult dungeons like SDN. And, as we all know, dungeons like SDN has loots that are really rare and expensive. So, when you become a Saint, there's a lot of big chance of making a lot of money as you can go to places where few can explore.
- Able to spam Lightning Relic to disrupt enemy action and chip away their HP.
-Some of their skills (like summoning relics) has good super armor.

Cons:
- Like expected with a cleric class, Saint is also slow too and can easily be caught.
- Expensive gears.
- Has no offensive prowess. However, this doesn't mean that the Saint has no offensive capabilities. Just think. Just imagine, if you have casted all relics on the floor and then, you use Relic of Shock.... Boom! The only thing you need is proper placement of the relics and you will surely deal huge damage.
- Every one knows about the Relic of Shock. That is why if any player see the relics being close together, they will run.

Personal Preference:

If I were to be asked, probably I'll go with Saint (which I already did). Inquisitors are great in terms of PVP as some of their skills (like Consecration) has far more damage in PVP than in PVE and, they are also a fun class too but the fact is, I don't want to be a "Jack of all Trades" wherein I'm only good at everything but a master of nothing. In addition, Dungeon raids are more fun than PVP in the game FYI. I want to be raid all the hard dungeons as possible and earn lots of gold out of it. And lastly, it's because I'm a guy who loves supportive classes. Saint is one of my favorite class in Dragon Nest SEA as, not only that it can support, it also can nuke opponents to oblivion. I will say it for the third time in this post, Saint aren't just a support class but it's also good in terms of clearing out tons of enemies in an instance. For example, your party is in a situation wherein you're all surrounded by lots of enemies. The Saint will then cast the Bind Relic, two Lightning Relic, the Healing Relic and the Cure Relic and then, he will use the Relick of Shock. Note that every relic will produce a 250.8%+1496 damage at level 1 plus, additional damage (whether FD or Critical). Just Imagine what will happen to those enemies surrounding you? : )

Conclusion:

Overall, I can say that both Inquisitor and Saint are great. All you need to do is choose the best class that suits your playing style. If you're a PVP-oriented player, the proceed being an Inquisitor. Or, if you're like me who loves full-supportive classes and wants to explore every hard dungeons in Lagendia, then be like me and become a Saint.
