Final Fantasy IX Officially Coming to Mobiles
Square Enix released a video over on their Japanese channel on YouTube which showcases some of the gameplay that will be arriving in the mobile version of Final Fantasy IX. It also finally gives us an idea of what the graphics will look like. The video's kind of funny because it looks sort of like a news cast. It does look like our previous report on this game was correct regarding some of the new features coming with this version, including an auto-save feature (via the cloud), and the ability to speed everything up including the possible bypassing of cutscenes. All cinematics will be the original ones.
Right now there's still no word on when Final Fantasy IX will be released onto mobile, and whether or not it will be just in Japan or a global release. More than likely it'll see a global launch as it wouldn't make much sense releasing this game in Japan-only with how big of a fan base the franchise has across the world, let along the fact that there's already a lot of Final Fantasy games available on Android in the West.
